Masa para Tamales

- 4 cups masa mix
- 4 cups lukewarm chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/3 cups lard or vegetable shortening
Directions
In a large bowl, beat lard or shortening until fluffy.
In another bowl, combine masa, baking powder and salt. Mix the broth into the masa a little at a time, working with your fingers to make a moist dough.
Combine with shortening and beat until masa has a spongy texture.
Makes about 3 1/2 to 4 dozen tamales.
